There are three types of native milkweeds in our area.
Probably the best for a garden application is Butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa).

The other types are swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata), which is pink and common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca), which is best grown with of space as it runs and out-competes many garden plants. These are the ones you see by the side of the road with fluffy white seed dispersal.
The first two are available at nurseries in pots and seeds for all three are available.
