Soil testing

Asked May 21, 2019, 9:47 AM EDT

I recently purchased a home right down the street from Scott county park and I am wanting to get my yard healthy. I was told to contact my local cooperative extension about possibly getting the soil tested to find out what it could use. Thank you!

Take 3 to 4 samples of soil around your lawn (4 to 6 inches down, soil only) Mix these soil samples in a clean bucket and bring in two cups of this mixed soil (zip loc, etc.) into the Scott Co. Cooperative
Extension office, 1130 Cincinnati Road, Georgetown, KY 40324 502 863 0984.
We will send your samples to the UK soil lab and they will send results back to us to interpret for you. Usually takes 5 to 10 working days. Look forward to meeting you.
