Begonia bulbs

Asked May 20, 2019, 11:38 AM EDT

I was given stored begonia bulbs that are in clumps of five. I have ten clumps that have sprouted 6-10 inches. My question is can I plant them in clumps or does each small tube or bulb need to be planted separately?

Thank you for your question. They need to be separated before planting—as soon as possible! These are technically tubers, not bulbs. Here is a WSU article with more information: https://s3.wp.wsu.edu/uploads/sites/2073/2014/03/All-About-Begonias2.pdf Good luck!
