Freeze-damaged trees

The recent, extremely cold winter took a toll on my dwarf Alberta spruces, which now have a lot of dead needles. Should I trim the stems back, remove the dead needles, or just let the trees take care of themselves?

Usually with winter damage it is a "wait and see". Buds may still be viable so it is best to wait and see if you get new growth. Check out the following link:
