coffee grounds in compost

Asked May 18, 2019, 8:47 AM EDT

Just read the online article about adding coffee grounds to soil. In a different source I recently read that adding coffee to my compost pile was not good because the caffeine level of the finished compost would stunt plant growth. Do you agree?

Interesting question.
Coffee grounds are fine for compost piles. Indeed, it solves the problem that putting them on potted plants can create a compacted water barrier.

Toss it in with the rest of the compost.
