Bulb question

Asked May 16, 2019, 2:42 PM EDT

Hi there, I had purchased some bulbs in the fall and I never got to plant them. I have scilla, hyacinthus and tulips. Would it be better for me to just plant them now or to hold onto them until fall and place them then?

Plant your bulbs when the soil is dry. It is better to get the bulbs planted so you do not forget to plant them this fall. Examine the bulbs and discard all the buds that are soft and mushy. Soft bulbs are dead or dying and healthy bulbs should be firm and hard. Scilla is invasive in some areas of the country. https://www.minnesotawildflowers.info/flower/siberian-squill https://www.accentnatural.com/highly-invasive-spring-scilla/
