Daffodil bulbs

Asked May 9, 2019, 4:02 PM EDT

A bag of bulbs from last Fall were never planted. Can they be planted now with the possibility of coming up next year?

Sure, you could plant them now. Depending on the weather, we may have enough of a chilling period that they could flower this year. If not, planting now would ensure they have a good root system going into fall/winter this year.

I would recommend checking the condition of the bulbs and make sure they are not moldy or dried out. They should be firm to the touch, not squishy in order to plant them.

Thanks. It is certainly still chilly here.
