Shedding of older leaves is normal at this time of year in hollies. https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/normal-leaf-shedding That said, we have noted this symptom in some Ilex glabra plantings this year and attribute it to the excessively wet weather we have had over the last year. Inkberries tend to like soil that is moist to dry -- not consistently wet. There is no treatment we can recommend. Keep an eye on the new growth for any new symptoms during the growing season. Hope for some drier weather.
