Wrinkling Hosta Leaves

Asked May 6, 2019, 8:10 AM EDT

Hello, I have a long bed of hosta and noticed this year that a handful of the plants are sprouting heavily wrinkled leaves. There is no discoloration or evidence of insect action. I’ve included a photo showing adjacent plants, the one on the right is exhibiting the wrinkling. I welcome any insight and/or suggestions you might have. Thank you!

It looks like your hosta has symptoms of a virus. There are several viruses that can affect hostas and cause this "puckering" symptom in the leaves. Unfortunately, these plant viruses are not curable. All you can do is remove and discard the symptomatic plants. https://extension.psu.edu/hosta-diseases
