mushroom compost as a mulch on blueberries?

Asked May 5, 2019, 2:45 PM EDT

I just laid down a four inch layer of mushroom compost on over one hundred- five year old blue berries, should I remove it because of the salts?

Thank you for your question. A better resource would be your own county Extension office: http://co.lawrence.pa.us/penn-state-extension/ Good luck!

I thank-you for your response.
Unfortunately my ext. agent hasn't gotten back to me!

S/he will probably refer you to this Extension article that recommends against using because of its high (alkaline) pH: https://extension.psu.edu/blueberry-establishment-getting-off-to-the-right-start I’d remove it!

Thank- you very much. yours is one of three that I turn to for info.
Have a great day!
