ginko leaves not turning golden in fall as they used to

Asked April 29, 2019, 4:22 PM EDT

My Ginko tree is about 45-50 years old. It used to turn beautiful golden in the falland the leaves all drop at once. The last few years it has not done this. I miss the golden leaves.

Fall color depends on several factors: day temperatures, night temperatures, health of the tree, local rainfall, species and past history. Any one of these can cause fall color to change from year to year. Contact your local Extension Office for more information.
