Growing sedum

Asked April 27, 2019, 1:29 PM EDT

I put hulled sunflower seeds in my bird feeder with the common result that nothing seems to grow in a three foot area below it. I am thinking of planting the region wth sedum but can find no info on whether or not sedum is resistant to sunflower seed toxins. Have studies been performed on this subject, and if sedum is not a good choice can your recommend another succulent? The soil has lots of clay and gets considerable sun.

We have no original research on this and no list of plants resistant to sunflower seed toxins, but here's one we found that may be helpful: https://laidbackgardener.blog/2017/05/08/when-sunflowers-kill/
