Growth on Cedar Tree

Asked April 22, 2019, 9:37 AM EDT

Hello, I will be sending some pics from my IPOD. Orange growths on a cedar tree. They were their last year, didn't seem to affect the trees vitality, but wanted to check about the identity of these growths. Thanks kim, PS I'm asking for a neighbor.

This sounds like a rust disease on the cedar and there are several types. Take a look at our website for photos and more information

Well that solves that mystery! Now to tell the person with the cedar that his neighbor with the apple tree is the cause, or vice versa. And the tendrils on the cedar galls are too late to remove for further damage. Well there's always next year. And they both love their trees. Dang, I have to be the bearer of bad news.
