We put preen extended control on the soil in our vegetable garden then realized it’s not advised. Do we need to replace the soil or can we neutralize it?
Adams County Colorado
The Preen website: https://www.preen.com/products/preen-extended-control-weed-preventer does have information on neutralizing the product in soil using charcoal. This could work if you plan to plant non-edible pants. It is clear that they do not approve the product for vegetable gardens at all. Likely if you plan to plant vegetables this year you will need to replace the soil as the product remains in the soil for at least 6 months.
