The last two years my peaches and cherries have gotten this disease (or whatever it is) and destroyed the entire fruit in a matter of days. What is it and how can I prevent it this year?

Hamilton County Ohio

It appears to be Brown rot, caused by the fungus, Monilinia fructicola. Brown rot is a common and destructive disease of stone fruit, a closely related group of trees that include peach, nectarine, apricot, plum, and cherry.
