Source of local compost

Hello. I would appreciate any information related to purchasing compost from Maryland farmers. I live in Anne Arundel County and would like to apply it to my lawn (1 acre) and my vegetable garden (100 sq ft). I would like to purchase it directly from a farmer (with more than leaves). I make a little bit not enough yet to reboot all my soil. Thank you.

Hi- we don't know of any Anne Arundel Co. farms making/selling finished compost. You may want to contact the county Extension office to see if they have a list:

There are local and regional products available such as Leaf Gro, Veterans Compost, Bloom Soil, and mushroom compost are some examples. Some county landfill operations produce high quality compost from yardwaste so check with Anne Arundel Co.
