Shot in trees for Ash Bark Beetle

Asked April 4, 2019, 6:49 PM EDT

Several tree services are promoting the injection of my two ash trees NOW to protect them from the bark beetle infestation. To my knowledge, there have yet to be any beetles seen in the Denver area.

You are correct, the emerald ash borer (EAB) has not been identified in the Denver area as of this writing. However, it is only a matter of time until it will be identified in the Denver area. To assess your options on whether to treat or not treat for the EAB, I'm including a link to the City of Denver's "Be a Smart Ash" program. This program has been developed with expertise of professional horticulturalists at Colorado State University & is considered best practice.
