Do you all do soil analysis test for gardens? If so, what do I need to do? Thanks, Michael Greene

If you live in Lyon County soil tests are free. You need to sample about 3 inches deep for lawns and in no-till situations. For gardens that are tilled, sample 4-6 inches deep in a W or Z type pattern. Collect samples in a plastic bucket, mix and bring in 1-2 cups of the soil. We have soil probes that we loan out, both are out today but they should be back soon. You can also sample with a trowel. Avoid sampling odd areas. If you have questions call 270-388-2341. Our office is at 231 Main St. in Eddyville, KY. It takes a couple of weeks to get sample results back.
