Nectarine for the Oregon Coast

Asked March 25, 2019, 6:45 PM EDT

I am looking for a dwarf or semi-dwarf nectarine tree with a maximum height of 12 feet. It is going into a rather narrow, full sun location. I am in Warrenton Oregon zone 8b. Are there any nectarine or other fruiting trees that are happy in a maritime climate?

You can get a genetic dwarf Nectarine but you will have to grow it in a pot and take it in in the winter. Your location is a bit cool for a Nectarine otherwise. There are, however, a couple of varieties of semi dwarf peaches suited to the coastal climate. They are; Frost, and Q-1-8 (a white peach). The following Apples do well: Akane, Gala, Fuji, Chehalis, Honeycrisp. Plums and Prunes will also do well.
