Dutch Elm protection

Asked March 20, 2019, 1:30 PM EDT

I have received 2 bids to treat prevention of Dutch Elm disease. One uses propiconazole and recommends an every 2 year treatment. The second was used by the previous owner, Arbotect 20-S, recommended every 3 years. What do you recommend? Thank you Susie Fry

This link explains how DED spreads. https://extension.umn.edu/plant-diseases/dutch-elm-disease I am sorry but we cannot recommend a particular treatment. I would suggest you have a third opinion. Hire a certified arborist to evaluate your tree and make a recommendation Go to this web site and click on Find An Arborist. You can put in your zip code to narrow the search: http://www.treesaregood.org/
