Preventing deer damage to tomato and eggplant plants

What are some preferred methods to prevent deer damage to tomato and eggplant plants? Thanks

A fence is the most reliable method. A height of 8 ft. is recommended but a shorter fence can be effective in situations where a relatively narrow garden is planted next to a house or wall. Deer don't like to jump into narrow, crowded spaces.

There are many choices for fencing materials. Black, mesh polypropylene mesh is a popular and cost-effective option
