Orchid won't bloom again

Asked March 16, 2019, 8:43 AM EDT

I received an orchid as a gift, I can't get to bloom again. Can an orchid bloom more than once and what do I need to do?

Orchids will bloom repeatedly when growing conditions are suitable. However, there are many kinds of orchids and care requirements differ from one species to another. We don't know what kind you have so we can't provide detailed care instructions.

Generally speaking, Phalaenopsis orchids grow and flower well in typical indoor home environments.

After blooming most orchids, including Phalaeneopsis, rest a while before growing another flower stem or setting more flower buds on an existing stem.
