Small Evergreen Trees completely covered with snow

Asked March 7, 2019, 5:19 PM EST

I planted some knee high evergreen trees in the spring last year and they are now are almost completely covered with snow except for about 2-3" sticking out of the snow. Should I leave them alone considering we are about to get another significant snowfall or should i clear some of the snow away. The same goes for some of my spirea, lilac and burning bush. Thank you

Don't worry about the snow. It is the best insulation and mulch there is. In fact, it also will keep the rabbits from chewing on them. Years when it is bitter cold and no or little snow are the killers.
