pruning dogwood

Asked March 3, 2019, 7:24 PM EST

I've just bought 2 Cornus florida Cloud Nine, about 8' tall. I'm wondering whether I should prune them to a single header or just let them grow--for a while or forever. If I should prune: Now? Before or after planting? Or wait till autumn?

Dogwoods bloom in the spring, so if you prune, prune it after blooms in May.

Cloud Nine will get 15-30 foot tall so plant in an appropriate area and space.

The bush/tree can be pruned central leader or bush - your option. Wild dogwood are not pruned.
