What could these be?

Asked February 25, 2019, 5:09 PM EST

Can anyone help identify these gelatinous, translucent balls that are showing up periodically in our home? They look like some kind of egg...most of them are clear, but then there are the orange and blue ones. They are about 2 or 3 cm in diameter, spongy and moist. They show up our kitchen floor, our upstairs tv room on stairs or other random floor surfaces. I have kept this last round, found on Feb 25, in a jar to observe them. There is no particular weather, or season, when we find them, and it at irregular intervals. Puzzled. Donna

We do not know what this is. One possibility might be some type of product filler that is used to wick up moisture, but we cannot say for sure. This is out of our area of expertise.
