Rose bushes roots/ useful?

Asked February 1, 2019, 8:00 PM EST

I do not know what kind of roses were surrounding my entire yard but when I purchased the home I tried to remove them. Useless. Can I use them to graft fruit? Berries? Anything but roses?

Thank you for your question. The only plant you can graft to rose rootstock is another variety of roses. The plants you’ve suggested are of an entirely different species. I suggest you contact your local rose society to see if someone there has a use for them, and able to remove them. Good luck!
