I heard a piece on TV about Black Beauty micro clover lawn. Will it grow will in the 6 and 7 growing zones. Does it do well in shady conditions. I already have had my soil tested by the extension service andn from what I have read about this seed it should do well in my soil conditions.

We do not have specific research data on the 'Black Beauty' variety of microclover. The University of Maryland has tested the "Pirouette" variety, the results of which you can see in this publication: https://extension.umd.edu/sites/extension.umd.edu/files/_images/programs/hgic/Publications/non_HGIC_...

Microclover has very poor shade tolerance. It is typically used in combination with turfgrass. For Maryland, turf-type tall fescue is recommended for most situations, but you need at least 4 hours of sunlight daily in the area where you want it to grow. If you have less than 4 hours of direct sunlight in the area, here is information about growing grass in the shade: https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/growing-grass-shade and some possible lawn alternatives, https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/lawn-alternatives.
