pH need of Schipka (skip) laurel
I want to plant a skip Laurel in my property in Hawthorne Nevada. I want to know what the growing requirements in Mineral Co.for Schipka (skip) laurel are.
Mineral County Nevada
Skip Laurel or Prunus laurocerasus ‘Schipkaensis’ prefer rich or high in organic soils with consistent moisture during the summer months. The pH requirement is about 4 to 7.3 and a soil type of sandy, loam to clay loam. You may need to add amendments and top dress with compost to increase the organic matter of you soil.
I have attached a few links with more information on growing conditions, but you should note these plants generally grow better in cooler environments with more nutritious soils.
Thank you for your question.
