Wood can be collected when the wood is dormant, so now through mid March would be the time. The scion wood will keep if properly stored for about 3 months. https://watauga.ces.ncsu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/COLLECTING-AND-STORING-SCION-WOOD-1.pdf?fwd=no https://www.ag.ndsu.edu/hort/info/fruit/graft.htm https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/selecting_and_storing_scion_wood_for_grafting
