Frederick County Maryland emerald ash borer insect or spider id trees

Unfortunately, there is no assistance program to help homeowners with removal of trees infected with Emerald Ash Borer. If the tree(s) in question are in a public right-of-way area (not on private property) you can check with your county's public works department to ask about removal. For trees on private property, it is up to the homeowner. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources offers a rebate ($25) to help cover the cost of replacement trees. http://dnr.maryland.gov/forests/Pages/MarylandersPlantTrees/Introduction.aspx

Ash trees become brittle quickly once they die and they can be very hazardous. We suggest removal as soon as is feasible. Use a licensed tree expert or certified arborist. http://www.treesaregood.org/findanarborist/arboristsearch
