Prevent grass from migrating into my garden

Asked December 3, 2018, 9:08 PM EST

How do I prevent grass from migrating into my garden. Right now we only have wood landscaping logs separating the garden from the grass/lawn. I'm assuming I need to do something underground to try and prevent the grass from migrating. Any ideas? Thank you

Yes, you'll want to use something that creates a barrier to the grass's roots. The black plastic weed barriers about 3-4" wide that come in a roll work well and last for many years. You will bury most of the strip vertically in the soil.

You could also make the barrier wider instead of deeper. A border of pavers should be wide enough. You can also run a lawnmover wheel on top of the pavers and use them as a mowing strip.
