Noxiuos thorny plant in Scott Co?

Asked November 26, 2018, 9:04 AM EST

I got pricked on the knee this Sunday at a tree farm in Elko, MN by some sort of sharp thorn. Now my knee is sore, and the spot I was pricked is very tender and sore to the touch. I can walk around just fine, there's no redness or swelling. I simply notice general mild pain in my knee and a small pin point red spot where I got pricked. Would you be able to tell me if there are any noxious, thorny plants that I may have encountered in Scott County that I should be concerned about?

There are no thorny, noxious plants specific to Scott county. There are different types of shrubs and vines that are thorny. If a thorn becomes imbedded in the skin it can cause varying degrees of irritation. If you continue to have challenges I would encourage you to contact your health care provider.
