Fall pruning

Should I cut back hostas in the fall-different websites provide different answers. I’ve had problems with slugs. I also wondered yellow loosestrife and lady in red ferms for fall pruning. Thank you!

Cleaning up hostas in the fall vs. spring is strictly a personal preference. Fall cleanup reduces the amount of work you have to do in the spring, when you are busy with other things. It makes things look tidier. But it does not matter for the health of the plant, nor does it affect the slug population. Read here:

Same with the yellow loosestrife and the ferns. The only time you have to cut back in the fall is if you have disease issues. Read here:
