Really would like to know the name of this tree. We live in Woodbury on a heavy mature tree acreage, but have never been able to ID this tree.

The tree is a kind of euonymus, perhaps (Euonymus atropurpureus) also known as eastern wahoo or (Euonymus europaeus) also known as European spindle tree.

Thank you so much for your speedy answer. We have wondered for years what it was. After looking closer at the two suggestions we have settled on the Eastern Wahoo as the seed shell is four sided instead of five and all the other variations match better. Appreciate your help.
