Asked November 6, 2018, 1:35 PM EST

HI, I ordered apple, Nectarine, and peach trees which have not been shipped to me. All are bare root and I am concerned it is getting too late to plant them. Also Heritage Raspberry Plants Please advise I can delay shipping to march Jeff Cuddeback

Since you don't have the plants yet Jeff, I would delay shipping until March if you can. There is no advantage to planting this late in the year. They would do just fine early spring and you wouldn't be responsible for them until delivery. Otherwise you would be worried about them even surviving the winter, no matter how much protection you give them by mulching etc. You can read more about planting bare root plants in spring here: https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/bare_root_plants_provide_opportunities_for_early_spring_planting

Good luck!
