Red wigglers in compost bin?

Asked November 4, 2018, 12:47 PM EST

Howdy, I have an Earth Machine in my backyard and it actually has way more worms than my worm factory composters, ironically. Are the worms showing up in the Earth Machine possibly red wigglers? They don’t look like your classic big earthworm and they’re towards the top of the compost, which makes me think yes. If they are, I’d live to transplant some of them into my worm factory composters. Thanks and sorry the image is lousy!

Yes, those are the same worms! They tend to enjoy the parts of your compost bin that aren't too toasty. You can harvest from the bin and relocate to your worm bin.
