Planting bamboo in November

Asked October 31, 2018, 4:55 PM EDT

I am planning to plant a clumping bamboo screen (Rufa) in Wheaton. Is it advisable to plant 2 gallon plants in a a week or two or is it better to wait till spring? Thank you for your help

It's getting hard to say what our weather is going to do, but we would go ahead and plant them as soon as you can.

Be sure that you are planting clumping bamboo and not running bamboo too. As you probably know, there is a huge difference and we do not recommend the invasive running varieties.
