how to test my water

Asked October 31, 2018, 2:06 PM EDT

Hello, I live in the city of Milan, Mi. I would like to have my water professionally tested. I know it's hard and I know I have Ferruos Clear Water Iron. I have a water softener which was installed 469 days ago to replace the 10 year old model. What can I do to filter my water once I determine the results of the water test and what source do I use to test my water? Thank you.

Thank you for your inquiry.

If you have not yet had your water tested, you can contact your local health department, which for you would be:

I apologize if you are actully in Moroe County, and if so, your health department would be:

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has its own drinking water testing, and you can find this information here:

There are several types of water filters, ranging from sand and sediment filter to charcoal filters. Some filters may not remove iron, or iron levels may be high enough that the filter needs to be changed monthly.
