When using preen to prevent seed germination in mulched flowerbeds – how long is it viable? Has there been anything developed that accomplishes the same Result? Thank U. Anneliese

Always read label on chemical controls for the particular product you are using. Here is a link to the Preen product labels and directions. https://www.preen.com/sds
This was found under Preen Garden Weed Preventer
https://www.preen.com/labels/2463679.pdf
"Rain does not wash this product out of the soil. To keep ornamental beds weed-free all season long, reapply this product every 9-12 weeks."
Be sure to look for a temperature range and season on the label information as well.

For chemical alternatives to Preen, go to this Missouri Botanical Garden FAQ webpage at: http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/gardens-gardening/your-garden/help-for-the-home-gardener/advi...
