Fall grass seeding

Today is 10/19/2018. Is it too late to plant grass seed in Flint, Michigan?

Yes it is too late for lawn seeding, that is if you want a predictably good result. The optimum time for lawn seeding is late August early September, giving the lawn a good chance to become established with one or two mowings before dormancy. You would be completely at the mercy of the weather at this time with the odds not in your favor. Bluegrass can take 2 weeks or more just to germinate, very possibly exposing seedlings to killing weather. There is however the possibility of a dormant seeding, once the weather becomes too cold to germinate and the seed lays there until spring, but the results are always iffy at best.
