We have been inundated with wooly worms that are crawling all over our front porch apparently trying to get inside. They also enter the garage. We've never seen so many, and never seen this behavior bwfobe.

Please refer to the following web site regarding wooly worms https://bygl.osu.edu/node/938. This is from Bygl home and garden site of Ohio State University. It is common for native insects to demonstrate wide swings in numbers from year-to-year. It may also be associated with our weather. Extended number of cool days stretching out caterpillar development. Likewise this year we have had a very warm summer thus facilitating the development. Their crawling about at this time is their travel to their place to stay the winter.
