Lawn Question

Asked October 10, 2018, 11:37 AM EDT

I recently planed some tall fescue seed in patches of my lawn that had died. Before planting the new seed I dug down and put in app 4" of Scott's New Grass & Sod soil. The grass came up nicely but after 2 weeks it is now turning brown little by little. What's wrong & how do I fix it? Thanks

Hi. I am not sure. Was a soil test done in the last three years to determine pH and fertility prior to planting? Do you have irrigation or a way to water? Could the bare spot be a drainage issue or possibly a disease issue? It has been a very challenging year for plants. A photo would also be helpful. If you would like to discuss this, please send me a phone number to call you or email me directly at wootten@udel.edu.
