Freezing apples!

Asked October 8, 2018, 12:43 PM EDT

What is the lowest temperature I can leave my apples on the tree to that will not freeze them? They still are not ripe and have a light green cast internally. They need a couple of more weeks on the tree. Help!!!!!!!

Sorry for the late response on this. The information I was able to find on this topic indicated that apples will not freeze until temperatures reach -2 degrees Centigrade (~28 degrees Fahrenheit). The source also indicated that if the apples do freeze they recover best if left on the tree. See here for more information:http://www.omafra.gov.on.ca/english/crops/facts/00-003.htm#frozen

I hope this helps, please let me know if you have further questions.
