Thank you for contacting the Colorado Extension of Master Gardeners. Brown spots in the lawn can be caused by a number of issues. The most common problem is watering. Be sure to check your sprinkler coverage to make sure the area is being reached. Mites are another possibility. Damage appears primarily in dry conditions and a change of watering practice is usually all that is needed. For more information on brown spots in Colorado lawns, please see the attached fact sheet.

If the problem persists, Colorado Extension provides a lawn check service where a team visits your home to inspect the lawn and offer guidance. More information can be found at csulawncheck.org

Hope this helps!
