Lime on pasture.

Asked October 5, 2018, 2:50 PM EDT

I live in the Stafford area. Have a couple acres of pasture in need of lime. Is someone that does this or should I just get pellets and use broadcast spreader.

Do you know how much you need to apply per acre? Most pastures that have become acid need about 2-3 tons of lime per acre. This can be done with bags of lime and a spreader but it is quite a task. Lime companies usually have a 10-20 ton minimum application but you can contact Wilco or Marion Ag Service to see if they could do a small tract and what it would cost.
