Growth in my Greenhouse

Asked October 2, 2018, 1:39 PM EDT

Hello, I have a 20' x 40' greenhouse and recently something has grown in it. I presume it's a fungus? Attached are pictures. Can you identify what the object is? Thank you very much, Jim G

This is a slime mold called Fuligo septica, which usually starts out as a bright yellow which fades in color. Although called a slime "mold" it is actually not a fungus. It lives on dead material in or on soil. It does not parasitize plants or animals.
