Dear Kentucky Cooperative Extention Service,

In school I am researching snakes in Kentucky, and I am wanting to make a book about the different snakes. So far, I have researched the four venomous snakes: the Copperhead, Cottonmouth, Pygmy Rattlesnake, and the Timber Rattlesnake. I am going to include these topics in the book, and I want to ask if there are any other specific snakes or different traits that I could use for my book . I am very passionate about snakes and want to know more about them and this is an assignment due, I hope you can get to me as soon as possible. I know that you are the experts and I hope you can get back to me soon.

Thankyou,

Brett Owen

If you can please respond to me through my email. Thankyou.

There are a couple of wonderful resources in Kentucky for information about snakes. 1. https://fw.ky.gov/Wildlife/Documents/kysnakebook.pdf (This book has some great photographs and information about the variety of common species of snakes we see in various areas of the state) 2. http://kysnakes.ca.uky.edu/KY_snakes (This is a great resource page by UK, regarding our different species. There’s a lot of helpful information and some interesting facts about each snake we find in Kentucky) If you need anything else, please let me know. Eric.comley@uky.edu
