apple identification

Asked September 28, 2018, 11:41 PM EDT

Tree nr 2. Recap: Old orchard, trees are at least 50 years old. Location is the Alsea area. This tree starts ripening late October, very firm, slightly tart but not as much as a Granny Smith. Bears seem to prefer this one. Gaping hole in trunk is where the 3rd branch broke when a bear thought the ones still in the tree were better. All 3 of the trees are hollow as are the main branches.

I'm guessing Braeburn, but see my other reply with disclaimer about identifying apples over the internet.
