Bird’s nest fungus

Asked September 28, 2018, 6:55 AM EDT

We have a raised bed. We added dirt and manure this year to compensate for settling. The birds nest fungus spread over the whole area. None of the seeds we planted grew, which is probably a separate issue. Should I let the fungus stay and do it’s work or remove before winter?

The fungus is not harmful to plants. It should not have effected your seeds germinating. If the fungus is a nuisance, you can rake the effected area to disrupt the fruiting bodies.
