Fig tree wintering

Asked September 27, 2018, 8:43 AM EDT

I live in Brighton and have a two year old fig tree outdoors in a 9 gallon pot. Wondering what I should do in the winter? Should I bring it in the garage? Or plant it? Burlap wrap it?

As long as it is in a pot now I would not plant it and just bring it in the garage for winter. Figs are always iffy in Michigan and one never knows when or if we will get a brutally cold winter. Here's more on growing figs in Michigan:

Good luck!

This is awesome--thank you!
